The Westly Group is one of the larger cleantech venture firms in the U.S., currently investing a $127 million fund. This current fund has done very well, and we have recently begun raising our next fund ($175 million target size). This fund will focus primarily on cleantech opportunities in the United States, with a cap of 20% internationally. We plan to continue to invest in companies with:
- proven technology
- established revenues and a
- clear path to liquidity in 2-4 years.

- Our IRR is at the high end of the top quartile of 2008 vintage venture capital funds
- We had three portfolio companies go public on NASDAQ in 2010 – Tesla Motors (TSLA), Amyris (AMRS), and China Recycling Energy Corporation (CREG). At the end of 2010, we had returned nearly all of invested capital to our limited partners.
- The principals of our firm have committed over $50 million of their own money to our three funds-so our interests are 100% aligned with our LPs.
