The Westly Group's new portfolio company, Gecko Robotics,  aims to save human lives at our nation’s power plants with its wall-climbing robots. To continue doing so, the startup tells TechCrunch it has just secured $7 million from a cadre of high-profile sources, including Founders Fund, Mark Cuban, The Westly Group, Justin Kan and Y Combinator.

Westly Group Raises Fund III: $130 Million in Clean Technology

Utility giants including Innogy SE and Duke Energy Corp. are among the anchor investors in a new $130 million fund raised by Silicon Valley venture capital firm the Westly Group. Other investors include energy companies CLP Holdings Ltd.American Electric Power Co.Chubu Electric Power Co. and tire-maker Bridgestone Corp., said Steve Westly, founder and managing partner of the Westly Group.
